In order to streamline the design of the watch, the Rolex team has worked to reduce the thickness of the case, aiming to be one-third thinner than the Oyster Perpetual watch, without compromising any performance of the movement. The movement is designed to meet the stringent requirements for precision and reliability of chronometers at the Excellence Observatory. To create a slim case, the brand needed to develop innovative technical solutions, such as a thorough understanding of the assembly process of the balance spring assembly.
